Oral communications and posters submission guidelines

Proposals must be submitted to the International Conference on Ethics Education, until 17-03-2019, 23:59 hours.

1. ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION

1.1 Oral Communications and Posters 
Abstracts will be welcomed on the following areas in ethics education:

• Medical & Health Sciences, Nursing
• Research Ethics
• Law, history, humanities, philosophy
• Art, Photography and Drama
• Journalism, Social Sciences, Psychology and Theology (Religion)
• Educational Insights
• Business and Management
• Engineering, Architecture
• Natural Sciences and Nanotechnology
• Information and Communications Technology

Abstracts may refer to research projects, educational projects or philosophical perspectives, and must not exceed 500 words.
Abstracts must not include references or citations, except when duly justified (e.g. in studies on validation and adaptation of data collection instruments, the reference to the instrument’s authorship is accepted). The original text must be written in letter type “Times New Roman”, at 11 points and 1.5 line spacing

1.1.1 Writing the abstract (in English)
• Authors [Name, surname; Name, surname]
• Affiliation [Institution + Professional category + country]
• E-mail contact(s)
• Organizing text (500 words)
• Title
• Background
• Aim/Purpose
• Description of Empirical Methods and/or Philosophical perspective
• Results, Outcomes & Implications
• Conclusions
• Keywords: maximum 4 keywords, separated by a semicolon

2. GENERAL INFORMATION 

Oral communications and posters must be original and not been considered for presentation elsewhere. Authors must identify the type of presentation (oral or poster). The Scientific Committee of the Congress may propose change in the type of presentation.

2.1. Authors of oral communications and posters will be informed of work acceptance by e-mail, until 05-04-2019.

2.2. To submit the oral communication and poster, the corresponding author must fill out the submission form available in the “Submission” tab.

2.3. The author responsible for presenting the work must be registered at the Congress, so full registration must be completed until 05.05.2019.

2.4. The works assessment is the responsibility of the Conference Scientific Committee with no decision appeal.

3. PRESENTATION  (in English)

3.1 General Information on Oral Communications and Posters

• The final presentation of works accepted to the Conference must be sent until 17-07-2019 by email: eventos@esenf.pt

• The file must be named with the complete title of the presentation.

• The file formatting will be according to the model sent by email to all accepted works.

• For each presentation, a certificate will be issued including the names of all authors.

• Each registered participant is authorized to submit a maximum of 2 works.

3.2 Formatting and Poster Presentation 

Poster design:
3.2.1 Posters will be projected. No printing support is necessary.

3.2.2 Works must be developed with Microsoft Powerpoint® according to the format guidelines sent with work acceptance:

• Page: horizontal alignment;
• Dimension: standard – screen display 4:3, width 25,4 cm, height 19,05 cm;
• Minimum letter size: title – 24; content – 12; and references – 9;
• Porter background must be colour white enabling perfect display of contents.

3.2.3 The file must be named with the complete title of the presentation.

3.2.4 In the presentation day, the author responsible for the poster presentation must attend the location of poster exhibition, according to previously scheduled time.

3.2.5 The oral presentation of posters is limited to 5 minutes (presentation) and 5 minutes (discussion).

3.3 Formatting and Presentation of Oral Communications 

Oral communication guidelines:
3.3.1 There will be a maximum 15-minute time for the oral communication presentation.

3.3.2 Oral communications formatting will be according to the standard template sent by email following work acceptance.

3.3.3 Works must be developed with Microsoft Powerpoint® according to the format guidelines sent with work acceptance:
• Page: horizontal alignment.
• Dimension: standard – screen display 4:3, width 25,4 cm, height 19,05 cm.
• Minimum letter size: title – 24; content – 14.
• Porter background must be colour white enabling perfect display of contents.
• 3.3.4 The file must be named with the complete title of the oral communication.
